Exploring the ‘YOU’niverse with Meditation

For thousands of years, people have turned to meditation to deepen understanding of themselves and the mystical forces of life.

Today,  we are beginning to understand the healing benefits meditation has on on the mind, body, and emotions.

With meditation, you can bring a sense of calm, peace, and balance that benefits both your emotional wellbeing, and health.

The difference between meditation and hypnotherapy.

Mind body practices such as meditation and hypnotherapy hypnosis for different purposes.

While hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to achieve a goal or an outcome, meditation uses hypnosis as a way to expand awareness within.

Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis with a specific intention or goal. Meditation on the other hand, uses hypnosis to simply ‘be’.

The benefits of meditation

Meditation allows you to go within your mind.  To detach from the real world and to connect with the real you.

Throughout the day, little stresses, worries, and pressures accumulate and build up in the mind and body. We are either stressed about about what has passed, or anxious about what might happen in the future.

With meditation, you can unplug from the outside world and reconnect with yourself.

The benefits of meditation has been well documented over the years. Research has shown the benefits of meditation on the mind. In an 8 week study conducted by Harvard Researches at Massachusetts General Hospital determines that meditation literally rebuilds grey matter (1).

The different types of meditation

There are many different forms of meditation with different techniques and practices.

Focused attention meditation

Your attention is focused on a single object during the meditation. This object may be a part of the body, a mantra, a candle, a piece of art, or even drums and chants.

Mindfulness Meditation

Your attention and awareness is focused on the present moment. During this meditation, you become aware of what is around you, inside the room and outside the room. You become aware of your internal sensations such as your breathing, your heart beating, or the feelings within your muscles.

Metta Meditation

Metta meditation is a practice that brings about love, kindness, and empathy towards the self and others. Benefits includes a more loving and accepting feeling towards the self and an increased feeling of purpose of life.

Is meditation hard?

Meditation is a journey into the self….an exploration of the YOUniverse.

Think of a meditation as our mind sailing the ocean of our thoughts. Sometime the waves is still other times the waves are violent and turbulent.

In meditation, you learn to keep your mind still and quiet the thoughts that causes conflict and stress within us.

Meditation is a practice. It takes time, it takes patience, and it takes you to a new level of of awareness and understanding.

Try a 3-minute silent meditation

Meditation can be done at home, at work, laying down, or sitting on a chair.

Here is a simple exercise you can do right now.

Grab a timer set it for three minutes. Close your eyes and just focus on your breath for 3 minutes. When the timer goes of, take note of how you feel!

Transform Your Life With Hypnosis

For a moment, think about how many times you’ve tried to change. Think about the goals you’ve had or the things you’ve wanted for yourself in your life.

Maybe you want to feel better about yourself. Maybe you want to excel at your work or become financially independent. Or maybe you want to learn a new skill, a new language, or a new ability.

You may not think you can accomplish your goals.  Maybe you think back at all the times you tried to change in the past. Or maybe your bookshelf is full of self-help books and programs you’ve bought in the past with little or no results.

The secret to success, change, and transformation

What if I told you that you have the ability to change, improve, and succeed your goals, dreams, and ambitions? What if I told you could succeed in anything you put your mind to.

The secret to success is buried deep inside your mind.

Try this simple exercise:

  1. Write down a big dream, goal, or change you wanted to make in your life but couldn’t.
  2. Now list all the reasons, fears, obstacles, and stumbling blocks that got in the way of you and success. Make a list of what has stopped you from accomplishing your goals in the past.
  3. Now ask yourself: What would have happened if you could have overcome the fears, obstacles and stumbling blocks?

Would it be surprising to you that the only thing getting between you and success is your own mind?

Change your mind, change your life

Your mind doesn’t like to change. Once you learn how to do something, it becomes habitual.

For example, you might think typing is simple and effortless. You might be able to type without looking at your keyboard. But what would happen if all the letters on your keyboard were re-arranged? How long do you think it would take to unlearn and then relearn they keys?

The same thing applies to our learned behavior and habits. You may want to change or reach a goal, but your mind might sabotage your efforts.

Here’s an example:  A person might want to lose weight and feel confident about themselves, but their mind might resist the changes they need to make. If their mind learned that food is a form of emotional comfort, that exercise is hard and painful, or that it feels safe to be overweight, then their mind will sabotage their weight loss efforts.

It doesn’t matter how many self-help books, diet plans, or programs you buy.  If your mind doesn’t want to change a habit or behavior, it won’t.

Learn to master your mind.

Hypnosis gives you access to your mind. It gives you the ability to remove old habits, negative thoughts, or destructive behaviors. It lets you plant new ideas, suggestions, and attitudes that become the catalyst for positive change and transformation.

Hypnosis makes it easier to unlearn old behaviors and relearn new ways of doing things. Hypnosis puts you in control of your actions, opens the door to unlimited possibilities, and gives you the power to succeed and achieve!
