Both meditations and self-hypnosis are hypnotic in nature. The main difference is that hypnosis allows you to resolve, remove, and reframe blocks holding you back and keeping you from moving forward. Self hypnosis allows you to reprogram old beliefs from the subconscious mind and replaces them with new, better, thoughts and beliefs.
Meditation, on the other hand, is primarily for self awareness and mindfulness.
