How Practicing Mindfulness Is Like Superpower

Mindfulness is the ability to know what is happening in your head at any given moment without getting carried away by it.

Mindfulness protects from being carried away from stressful situations.  It teaches you to respond, rather than react to the chaotic situations that come up in your life.  It grounds you and gives you more control over your emotions.

Can you imagine how useful this could be?  Imagine how beneficial it would be to remain calm and maintain control your emotions to any stressful or chaotic situation.

Practicing Mindfulness

Mindfulness is like a muscle.  Just like the muscles in your body, it needs to be exercised in order to grow stronger.

Activities that allow you to reflect inward, such as meditation, hypnosis, or guided imagery can increase your mindfulness.

A simple exercise to practice mindfulness

Try this quick and easy silent meditation to reset, let go, and become more mindful:

  1.  Stop – Stop what you are doing (if you can) and close your eyes
  2.  Breath – Begin to focus on your breathing and allow any thoughts to dissolve.
  3. Be – Stay in this moment for at least 3 Minutes.  If you want, you can repeat a positive affirmation to yourself before you carry on with the rest of your day.
